More than 100 Chinese swimmers compete in the Venus Cup in San Jose

The "Great Way Cup" Northern California Chinese Swimming Invitational Tournament successfully kicked off at Quicksilver Swimming in San Jose on September 28. More than 110 Chinese swimmers, divided into men and women and four age groups (below 44/) 45-59/60-69/70 and above), participated in 74 events, with a total of about 300 person-time events. Except for a few individuals who competed as individuals, most of the players belonged to four teams participating in the duel - East China United, Guangdong United, Northern Theater Team, and Newark Bluefin Team.
There are no major competitions for Chinese swimming this year, so this competition was temporarily initiated by Chinese swimming enthusiasts in Northern California before the Mid-Autumn Festival. As the preparatory committee members have rich experience in organizing events and appeal, they completed the preparations for various events within one month. It also specially sent Wu Qiong, the former head coach of the National Swimming Team, to come to the United States for technical guidance. Consul General Wang Donghua of the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco also wrote a congratulatory letter to the organizing team expressing his support for the event.

The American Chinese newspapers Sing Tao Daily and World Journal both reported on the competition. The friendly link of the report of Sing Tao Daily is as follows:
