Customs Brokerage Agent is responsible for the accurate and timely submission of customs entries for clearance of in-bound cargo through US Customs and facilitating the delivery of freight to customers. The position serves as a customer advocate and must possess professional customer service skills.
Job duties:
-Introduce importation procedure, requirement and our door-to-door service
-Prepare all customs entry documents for import shipments and conduct customs business transactions
-Classify the import commodities and understand the correct entry type
-File shipment entries electronically and generate entry report
-Communicate with Customs, carriers, shipping companies and related parties to get the shipment released timely
-Report all issues to customers and management affecting timely clearance and delivery in a timely manner
-Track and trace shipments and coordinate with steamship lines, freight forwarders and CFS on the availability of imported shipments
-Set up SOPs and follow SOPs for each customer on the correct method and data required for preparing an entry
-Purchase single bond/ continuous bond; terminate bond
-Monitor and process ABI messages daily
-Clear warehouse charge/gate fee/pier fee/exam charge
-Make post entry summary correction (Duty refund) and check refund status with customers
-Make payment of license and permit fee timely
-Regulatory Research and analysis to check the requirement and restriction of importations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
-Previous experience of U.S. customs brokerage job, or ocean and air operation in freight forwarding industry is a big plus
-Detail-oriented, able to follow directions and learn quickly
-Strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with customers, team, and management
-Ability to work under time constraints using time management and organization skills, adjusting priorities based on workload or direction from customer or management.
-Practical problem solving and decision-making skills.
-Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and freight software.
-Bilingual in English and Chinese preferred

Responsibilities:
Perform financial analysis, statistical analysis, variance analysis, trend analysis, feasibility analysis, scenario analysis, and ad hoc analysis for operational objectives and goals.
Provide financial models and dashboards with analysis on investment, expenses, capital expenditure, and balance sheet, including variances of actual to budget and year over year.
Improve financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management. Review financial results following each month and quarter-end financial close.
Analyze business environment data; create and develop financial forecasts; assist in planning and resource management (e.g. headcount, investment approvals, etc.) for specific verticals within the company.
Perform research and data analysis to identify specific business opportunities and formulate business strategy development plan; provide recommendations for sustainable business processes that will improve key operation metrics (customs inspection, clearance of goods, inland delivery utilization, conversion, ETAs, etc.).
Develop sustainable business practices that will have positive impacts on the company’s financial performance by tracking key performance indicators; analyzing sales, margin, profit, and productivity metrics; identifying and analyzing customers’ satisfaction, business opportunities, and market advantage.
Create Business Case Study documentation, RFP documentation, and scoring model for evaluation of logistic carriers and CBP (CUSTOMS & BORDER PROTECTION) responses, to monitor metrics for management.
Implement classification models including Lasso logistics regression and Random Forest with cross validation optimization for VIP customers’ order processing. Analyze data of one-time customers, applying regression models to identify potential engaged customers.
Assist in defining the budget process and framework; assist management in the preparation and management of annual budgets; review and analyze budgets and provide suggestions for improvement.
Assist in management reporting, accounting, and compliance advisement; discreetly and accurately track financial results to drive improved management reporting.
Minimum Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Sustainability, Business Analytics, or related. Courses taken in Business & Sustainability, and Business Statistics.
3 years of experience as Business Analyst or Financial Analyst.
